I just love the term big hairy audacious goal (BHAG), growth happens outside your comfort zone have you created yours?
“A true BHAG is clear and compelling, serves as unifying focal point of effort, and acts as a clear catalyst for team spirit. It has a clear finish line, so the organization can know when it has achieved the goal; people like to shoot for finish lines.”
Collins & Porras, Built to Last
Some examples;
“Make your vision so clear that your fears become irrelevant”
Is your business a mission driven organisation? Consumers are increasingly prioritizing social impact when making purchasing decisions. Communicate the impact your making in the world tie it into your marketing, examples;
If you can’t see where you are going how will you get there? Are you following the crowd, is your vision blurry?
When you find your vision the world will become clear, things will happen you will attract the people opportunities and wealth you desire.
Walt Disney’s story comes to mind, he bought 160 Acres north of Los Angeles he had vision and he made it happen. He could see that family friendly theme park, 462 banks & financiers knocked him back till he got a yes, the rest is history.
If you can’t SEE where you are going how will get there?
Are you powering into your tasks and to do lists or are you stuck? If you are passionate about what you are up to things move. Notice when things flow and go easily vs. when you struggle
If you can clearly see where you want to go, where you want to be, then progress comes down to action.
“Procrastination is the the greatest robber of self-esteem & self-confidence” ‘Keith Abraham’ ?
Value your time over money, how do you charge what leverage do you have, what are you investing in?
I’ll leave you with this;
“You don’t have to be great to get started, but you have to get started to be great.”
